Four Baritones

As the name implies, each member of this quartet sang the baritone part sometime during their extensive years of experience in a cappella harmony. The Four Baritones was formed in 2009, with the intention of sharing the joy of song with audiences of all types. Our repertoire includes theme music, appealing to religious and veterans groups as well as songs to celebrate important milestones in life, like marriage, birthdays or graduation.
Al Sargent, Tenor. From his office in Scarborough, Al serves clients as a financial advisor when not enjoying barbershop activities. His diverse interests include gardening, sailing and self-sufficient island living off the grid. Al lives in Auburn, Maine with his wife Mary Lou Hofmann with occasional visits from his two sons, Chris and Jesse and grandson, Connor.
Dave Cole, Lead. Dave has many years of vocal experience, both on the community theater stage and in the barbershop style. He has produced shows at Lyric Music Theater, and the Downeasters Annual shows of 2009 & 2010. Dave drives a school bus with Portland Public Schools and lives with his lovely wife Debbie of 26 years this June. Dave's children, Matthew and Michelle are graduating from college in 2011. Matt will be a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and Michelle will be a Medical Assistant.
Cy Kendrick, Bass. Cy and his wife Gail live in Topsham where the family moved in 2007. For many years, Cy has been an enthusiastic participant in barbershop harmony. Cy's best quartet experience was winning the Novice Quartet trophy with his quartet the The NightCrawlers and at the same time placing fifth in District competition out of a large field of competitors. In his spare time, Cy enjoys golf and volunteers with the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath.
Carl Cappello, Baritone. With a keen ear and warm heart, Carl has participated in barbershop harmony for several years with the Portland Downeasters. Carl lives in Cumberland with his wife, Deborah. Their daughter, Caroline, attends Brandeis University, son Steven is enrolled at the University of Maine in Orono, while son Kevin was recently graduated from Hartwick College.
