On the Go

L-R: Marshall Wagner (tenor), Larry Newth (lead), Wally Duplessie (bass), Dave Sweet (bari)

On The Go became a registered quartet in 1999. With a couple of personnel changes, this quartet has remained one of the busiest and most active quartets in the area. They have sung for governors and kings, (Lions Clubs, etc.) and presidents (of social clubs, etc.) all over the North: N. Waterford, N. Berwick, N. Yarmouth, N. Bridgton, N. Anson, N. Vassalboro, to name a few.

The combined years of barbershop experience defies the very youthful appearance of the quartet. They have sung the barbershop style a collective 140 years. On The Go features Wally Duplessie as bass, Marshall Wagner as tenor, Dave Sweet as baritone, and Larry Newth as lead. Wally is the original On The Go member. Dave and Larry sang together in The Maine Difference. Due to health issues, John Nielsen is not able to perform with us for awhile. We are very fortunate to have Marshall Wagner available and willing to join us as the tenor. Marshall and Larry sang together in a quartet thousands of years ago as well. All members of On the Go also belong to the Downeasters Barbershop Chorus.

This quartet has to travel many miles to rehearse. Dave resides in Kennebunk, Larry in Mechanic Falls, Wally in Windham, and Marshall in Gray. All are now able to say they are retired as Larry joined the ranks of the Medicare recipients on Thanksgiving, 2009.

Contact Larry Newth for more information or to book a performance of this quartet.
